ROLE & RESPONSIBLITIES
We're looking for our staff to be the lovely, smiling face of SUSO Skate Co.!
Our customers come to SUSO to participate in an outdoor activity, and have a good time in the sun with loved ones. We are a customer experience-led company and want to ensure our skaters are safe and have the best time possible. For many, this may be a special occasion like a date night or a birthday party and it's our job to make sure it is memorable.
You will be responsible for checking in our skaters every hour through our online booking system (most people will have pre-booked, so confirm they've signed their waiver and they are off to the races). Most of our skaters are trying roller skating for the first time, so please offer any trips or tricks to help them have a successful skate session. Once their time is up, they will return their skates and -- this is the glamorous side of the job -- you will be have to ensure all equipment is sprayed down with our hospital-grade sanitizer before their next use.
This is a seasonal summer job! We will be operating June to September. The Bentway will run June 8 - August 21, and our second location within the GTA will run June 1 - end of September. We require commitment for the season for the duration the location is open.
Hours of Operation*
Wednesday - Friday: 4-9pm
Saturday: 12 - 9pm
Sunday: 12 - 7pm
*Subject to change / may vary slightly based on location.
HOURLY RATE IS $18 PER HOUR.
You can commit to weekends, weekdays, or both. There is potential to have 35 hours a week or more if we have corporate events.
Enjoy working in an outdoor environment!
Interested in roller skating, whether your'e just starting to learn or a pro.
Have great customer relation skills. Remember, everyone is here to have a good time with friends or on a skate date.
Are good at managing and directing groups of people.
Excel at multitasking when under pressure (example: checking people in while others are dropping back skates. Don't worry you won't be on your own!).
Understand the importance of time management (example: sanitizing equipment during down time).
Tech savy! We will need you to learn and operate our booking system, and point of sale software.
Have First Aid training or willing to take a course. The odd accident can happen, and you need to be prepared.
BONUS: Have a passion for taking photos and creating Instagram Reels and TikToks!
